We started off our holiday weekend with a trip to the Children's Museum in Brookings. DH was on call for the whole weekend. But the kids and I had a free day. And that has been very rare so far this summer! So we took advantage of the day off and had a great time. In the summer there are so many more activities for the kids to enjoy: fishing, panning for gold in a stream, jumping around water fountains, visiting the big dinos, and digging for dino bones.
On the Fourth, the kids and I drove to Redfield for the parade in the morning, followed by bouncy houses and food in the park, then free swimming at their public pool. We drove back to Aberdeen in the afternoon and a few hours of down time before we went over to our neighbors house for more swimming, food and the big fireworks display they put on. It was a great day with great, hot weather! Sunday we lounged in the morning and then went to our friend's pool in our neighborhood in the afternoon. DH had a busy weekend, but was able to be with us for some of the weekend.
