Our List is Made

We have a list! What is this list? This list ranks all the programs that DH interviewed at this winter.

In medical school after interviewing the students rank their programs. It's a pretty confusing system. This rank list has to be uploaded into a website. The same happens with all the medical programs in the country. They rank all the students they interviewed from their favorites on down. This big web portal then tries to "match" to the best of its ability the first choices of students and programs. It then spits out where we'll be going for the next 4 years! This day when we find out where we will be going is called Match Day. It'll be on March 19th. They have a small ceremony for students and spouses at the hospital and then hand each student their sealed envelope of where they have been matched. We won't know until after reading the letter.

Pretty nerve racking. Our rank order is pretty much final. It's been uploaded into the website, but we do have until Feb. 25th to go in and make any changes.

Now until March 19th I'll be trying to find ways to spend my time and not dwell on the unknown.
