8 Months Old

Where has the time gone? We can't believe you are 8 Months Old already.

• You are changing every day and it is so much fun to see what you'll learn today
• You said your first word "Momma" - it is your favorite word to say. Daddy is patiently working on "Dadda" every minute he has. He'll ask you to say "dadda" but you'll spit out "momma" in response - Mommy thinks it is pretty cute :)
• You are a very active boy. We've always known this but it is becoming more apparent now that you are more mobile.
• You stand up next to your activity table with hardly any assistance
• You can pull yourself up and walk around objects
• You are very close to crawling. You get on your hands and knees and rock back and forth and move one arm forward before crashing onto the floor
• You are talking more - "m" sounds, "ba" sounds, showing off your vocals
• You still make your unique bark/throat clearing sound that is associated with your tracheomalacia. Recently you'll say "momma" in this tone of voice. We are trying not to laugh at you to evoke it any more but it reminds us of a scene from a funny movie called "House Bunny" where the main actress lowers her voice to remember a person's name.
• Most importantly - we removed your G-tube button! You spend more time on your tummy now and will even sleep on your tummy without waking up crying.
• You started 2nd stage foods.
• You enjoy going to the lake and sitting in the water, splashing your hands
• Your hair is growing fast! It's becoming more blonde too.
• You are very observant to your surroundings and to objects. You inspect your toys throughly before becoming bored with them.
