Our Week

Time is flying by for us! This past weekend Will and I went back to my hometown for 4 days which was the longest time Daddy had been away from us. Will did pretty good with the 6 hour car drive. Thankfully my Mom met us half way to help with the trip. While we were back on the farm Will helped Grandma D in her garden. She has lots of pumpkins for the fall! I'm looking forward to some pumpkin patch pics with Will. :) We also got to see Uncle Scott and Aunt Lindsey and Uncle Shane. I think Will has a special bond with his Aunt Lindsey. He really was a big flirt whenever she held him. Pretty soon Will will have a new cousin to play with. We are excited!!

Also this week we met with our new speciality doctors for Will: his peds GI doc and peds surgery doc. DH and I were happy with our consultations with them. Nothing was really needed at these appointments but to just set up care. Will's g-tube area is healing well. Our daily routine has drastically shorten, which is a good thing. We use to have to clean his g-tube button and administer his meds twice daily. Now we give him his Prilosec only once in the morning (it's now tiny granules) mixed with his breakfast baby food. And that is it! No more cleaning, administering or massaging needing to be done. It feels pretty strange to not have this long routine that we have been doing since he was born. Our GI Peds doctor was very impressed by how well Will is doing. Of course she sees quite a few TEF patients. She commented that Will is doing remarkably well. We pray and hope that his healing will continue as TEF is something that Will will have to live with for his lifetime. There will be challenges ahead as he grows. But we are so proud of him!
