We're Home

We're back home!

We had a fun Thanksgiving break that included too many big Thanksgiving feasts, Black Friday shopping, football watching, and a wonderful wedding reception. We enjoyed our time spent with family and friends! And after a busy Thanksgiving break, we headed to Minneapolis on Sunday with our good friends. The boys went to the Bears vs. Vikings game while us girls did some shopping downtown. The boys enjoyed themselves plenty; drinking enough before the game to either celebrate a victory or to drown their sorrows - unfortunately, it was to drown their sorrows. Yesterday we drove home and went straight to an eye appointment for DH. He's having lasik surgery done to one eye. And then leaves for his IA residency interview the next day. I've been reassured he'll have no problem driving.

Things we learned over the long break:
1. "Next year, we need to watch what we eat." (this repeats every year as #1 followed by "we need to work out")
2. the economy doesn't care how cute & enjoyable a quaint boutique can be --- Granville. :(
3. bacon wrapped water chestnuts are yummy!
4. Bears jersey's are not a source of warmth when running 10 blocks from the Metrodome in Nov.
5. which leads to ...... pack Vitamin C on every trip! (We are struggling to fight off any sickness)
6. and my favorite thing learned over the break -- to knit!

We hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving and remembered to count their blessings.
