Will's Dr. Appointment

As I have mentioned a few times on this blog, Will has a small hernia at the site of where his g-tube was. We've known since the beginning of the year that he would have to have a surgery to fix it. Back in January when we were meeting with the pediatric surgeon about the g-tube hernia, he heard Will breathing while drinking his milk and wanted him to be looked at by a pediatric ENT (ear, nose & throat) doctor. Will had a few x-rays done earlier this month on his trachea. We know that he still has severe tracheomalacia, but agreed that it is probably best to take another look at since it's been over a year from his last x-rays. Yesterday we met with the pediatric ENT doctor to go over those x-rays. Things haven't changed much. He still has severe tracheomalacia. We expected that. The doctor thought a bronchoscipy would give us a baseline to move forward with. Having this procedure done would help us in the future to know how his trachea is doing. We've decided to schedule the hernia surgery, and while Will is under anesthesia the ENT doctor will do the bronch at the same time. This will eliminate the need for two separate surgeries. DH and I have known this day would come again and we are prepared for another surgery. We are looking at the end of June.
