St. Augustine

Yesterday we took a day trip down to St. Augustine. It's only about a 25 minute drive, so a very doable trip. St. Augustine is the oldest city in the nation. Lots of history! But first we had to stop at the two premier outlet malls off the interstate.  :)  We did some shopping before heading down to the famous St. George street. The streets are small and cobblestoned. Lots of neat architecture including the fort the Spanish established when they landed in Florida for the first time back in the 1600's (if my history is right).

We toured up and down the streets that are full of little shops. We ate at Harry's Seafood & Grille which was located along the waterway. We had by far the best fried fish tacos there! They were amazing!

We walked around the old fort and one of the oldest cemeteries in the country. By this time Will was ready for a nap and it was getting pretty hot out.

But it was a great morning day trip for us. On the way home we took highway A1A which drives up the coast to Jacksonville. The drive was very scenic with the ocean right next to the passenger window and lots of great homes right on the beach.
